Things are getting real, friends! I'm now 3/4 of the way through my revisions for Book One. I'm keeping the title simply Thicker Than Water. The trilogy itself doesn't have a name yet, but will in the near future. I've got a few ideas I'm toying with so definitely stay tuned.
In other news, I'm working with Elite Authors on a gorgeous cover design. I can't wait to share it with you!
Until then, here's a snippet to tide you over. It was a favorite of several beta readers as well as my editor. I hope you like it, too.
Additionally, with Valentine's Day approaching, I've made two pairings teaser trailers to give you better insight to the relationship dynamics you'll see in TTW. The first features Shannon and Hugh. Writing their banter is so much fun! Here's a bit of backstory...
The world was Hugh’s oyster and indulge he did. A revolving door of ladies kept his calendar occupied. How he kept track of them all was anyone’s guess but one thing was certain- none ever stuck around for very long.
Smart mouthed, strong willed, and fiercely independent, all Shannon’s ever known of love is how much it hurts.
When the US enters World War One, Hugh enlists in the Navy. He is stationed at Cape May Section base number 9, where Shannon works at the nearby barracks mess hall.
Filled with irresistible tropes like:
📚 Big Man on Campus 🍻 Life of the Party 🏈 Fratbro 💪 Strong Female Character 😎 Cool Loser 💰 Class Differences ❤ Friends-to-Lovers
Their bond will be tested time and again.
🖤 The Sedition Act 🖤 Submarine Warfare 🖤 The Spanish Flu
Can their love survive the rising tide? Or will it be swept out to sea?
Watch the teaser here.
Teaser #2, featuring Danny and Jennie, drops tomorrow on Facebook and IG. As always, feel free to click that "share" button to help boost visibility.
Do you have any plans for Valentine's Day? Still shopping for that special someone? Books make great gifts. Just sayin'.
I recently finished Christmas Promises, a historical romance by Penelope Daniels. Filled with cozy scenes and "snowed in" (who doesn't love that trope!?) it's the perfect winter read.
I've also been fortunate to receive an Advanced Review Copy ("ARC") of Lisa Boyle's sophomore novel, Dear Inmate. Book #2 in her Paddy Series picks up four years after Signed, A Paddy and I'm loving every bit of it so far.
Interested in learning more about these #risingstarauthors? Not sure what's next on your own TBR?

Getting exciting. Love these posts and love you. Keep them coming. Going to check out Christmas Promises.
